Hare today

It's been over three months since I posted. Whilst I have had a little more time to craft I have had my son at home having home schooling as all our schools are still closed in the UK for Year 8.

Being at home and indoors has given me the chance to hunt through my stash for products I had forgotten about or never used.

With everyone rushing to the hairdressers I though it a good time to show you my own hare!

The stamps I used to make this card are by Crafty Individuals and came with a recent copy of Creative Stamping Magazine.

I created the background with spray inks and distress inks on watercolour card before stamping the image on top. I made a mask of the stamp to cover it whilst overstamping the grasses. To finish I used a white gel pen to highlight areas and a sprinkle of glitter.

I think it looks so ethereal and have plans to frame it and hang it on my wall.

Happy New Year!

First of all Happy New Year to you all! As usual the festive season went far too quickly, but it was lovely to have some downtime with the family.

One thing I always insist on is my son writing his thank you cards to family after receiving presents. My grandma of 97 still remembers to send out money to all her Great Grandchildren!.

I decided to make this card for her as being in a nursing home she loves to receive mail.

I used a fabulous set which came with Creative Stamping magazine to make the card.

I stamped the bear, cut him out and fixed with foam pads. I did the same with the present and his scarf.  The bunting was from a set in my stash wish I added alpha stamps to.

I can't wait to get back to crafting again after the festive break and discover some new techniques!

Going Retro

My poor little blog has been neglected far too long! I am trying to get back to my original crafty ways with distress, vintage and altered art techniques.

To begin with I am entering the Sunday Postcard Challenge, which this week is Retro Housewife.

Here is my entry

I have a great collection of vintage magazines so I used these as a background. The lady is from a retro stamp set by Creative Stamping and I had some papercuts with the fridge and window. I photographed the postcard lying on the original magazine for interest.

I hope to have more to share with you soon!

Anything Goes with a Die

As its supposed to be summer here in the UK I decided to make a tropical themed card for this month's Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With A Die.  Unfortunately the weather is anything but tropical with rain and wind!

For my card I used a flamingo die that came with one of my craft magazines. I die cut them from card and coloured them with Promarkers. I diecut a circle in the centre of the card and backed it with acetate, before using a background paper inside too.

The flowers are from a set by Creative Stamping magazine. I stamped and coloured them with Promarkers and a gold pen. The leaves were diecut with my Cricut machine.

Unfortunately the picture shows a mark on the acetate which was a bit disappointing, but otherwise I love this card!

Don't forget to join us at the challenge!

Sweet Pea

It must be the time of year as I seem to be making alot of new baby cards recently. This card that I made is going to my Godmother's Daughter who lives in Australia.

I used a stamp set that came with Creative Stamping Magazine a couple of months ago. I stamped the image and then used watercolours to add the colour. After diecutting the image I added the birds and the sentiment using foam pads for dimension.

I probably need to make a stash of these as you never know when another little one is on its way!!
