B for Bugs

This week we are on B for Bugs at The Alphabet Challenge. There is some great inspiration there, so do go and join in. You have two weeks to enter.

I made my card using an Inkadinkadoo set of stamps and Distress Ink to stamp and colour the image. I added Stickles to give the wings a glittery finish. Apart from that I left the card quite simple.

Also I would like to say hello to my most recent followers Kathryn from Lazy Daisy Glass, Laura from Laura Parkin Woven Design, and Chris from Retired and Loving It. They have some wonderful blogs so do pop over and say I said to say hello!

Other challenges I am entering with this card are :

A Winter's Scene

I've been a bit behind on my blogging lately being so busy with card orders and it has also been half term for my little one. Anyway here is my entry for Craft A Scene's Challenge which is Winter. I used the Polka Doodles set of Be Neighbourly stamps. I created the background using three shades of blue Distress Inks applied with Inkdusters, Cosmic Shimmer spray and Perfect Pearls powder mixed with water.  The snowflakes were embossed with WOW embossing bright white powder and I used a snow effect paste to create the snow.

Other challenges I am entering :
Crafty Hazlenut's Christmas - Create a Scene
Di's Digi Designs - All about snow - TOP 3
One Stop Craft Challenge - Create Your Own Background

Small Heart Canvas

This is a small canvas I have made as a sample of WOW Embossing Powder for the NEC Show. I painted the grunge paper heart with acrylic paint and then embossed with Ultra High Apple powder. Whilst still hot I press the leaf from the WOW Embossing Stamp Set  ???? I also dropped gold embossing powder onto the heart and melted that too. Once cool I rubbed Black Soot Distress Ink over the stamping. The canvas was painted with gold acrylic paint and then the edges embossed with Gold Ultra High Embossing powder.

Love is in the air

I'm slowly catching up on my blog posts, I have been snowed under with card orders this week! At Its Crafting Time, the theme for this week has been pink, white and red. Love is in the air at the moment, so I made this card with that in mind. First I die cut the birdcage and bird from the Tim Holtz Sizzix die from pink card which is embossed with dots. I lightly distressed the card with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I fixed these to the card with foam pads. The heart I diecut from a Sizzlits Sizzix die "Hearts". For the sentiment I used the saying from the Creative Expressions Birds stamp set. I stamped it onto a die cut heart using Versamark ink and embossed it with WOW Apple Red super fine powder. Finally I added pink spotty ribbon and paper roses to decorate. Visit the online shop to buy the items you need to make this card.

Animal Antics!

I have so much to update you on! First off today is a new challenge at The Alphabet Challenge blog. For the next two weeks the theme is Animal Antics - you can make anything to enter. The DT Team have produced some great samples. I'm not really a fan of cute, but struggled to find some animal stamps in my stash. I decided to keep it monotone and use kraft card to give it a more modern feel. The stamp is from Papermania.

With this card I am also entering the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes
Moving Along With the Times - Cute Critters

I will update you on the latest project at Its Crafting Time and WOW Embossing Powder Blog soon!

Grungy Monday - ATC Inspired by Tim

I haven't entered Grungy Monday challenge for a while, but just found the time to squeeze in this one. The challenge is to make an ATC using at least one Tim Holtz product or technique. For mine I embossed a piece of card using the Bingo embossing folder. Then using foam and Distress Ink I tinted the card and the ticket. I added a piece of tissue tape around the bottom before adding the ticket. The heart was a grunge element dipped in Gold UTEE into which I added Bedazzle beads.

Other challenges I am entering with this piece are :

In Print!

I am so behind with my blogging at the moment! I had a craft fair at the weekend which I sold out at (!) so have been busy making more cards to sell as well as my DT commitments and my son is off school with bronchitis! So a quick post just to share a Scrapbook layout of mine which is in month's issue (61) of Scrapbook Magazine. The photo is my son last winter making snow angels. Sadly we didn't get any snow this weekend. I used Serif Scrapbook 2 to create the layout with Daisytrail kits to embellish.I also have some other exciting news of being published - but thats a secret until later!!

Vintage Sewing Card

Today it is my turn to share my take on this week's theme at Its Crafting Time which is Newspaper. I used newspaper print paper from the Tim Holtz Lost and Found stack of papers to make this card. Firstly I die cut the mannequin from the Sizzix Sewing Room die out of card covered with newspaper. I then dry brushed this with white acrylic paint and then edged with Walnut Ink Distress stain. Before attaching this to the card I pleated dusky pink seam binding across the front. The tag I made from a digital sentiment and layered onto a tag, again distressed with Walnut Ink Distress stain. Using the cotton reel die cut from the same Sizzix Sewing Room die, I made a covered reel of cotton using embroidery thread.
