Christmas!

I must apologise for mentioning the C word in May, but that is the challenge at Crafting By Designs this week - Get Ready For Christmas.. So get out your glitters and holly and join in!

Our sponsor this week is Fred She Said. I chose their digital image Winter Westie to make my card for the Design Team.

I die cut an aperture into the card before covering with a background paper. I coloured the digi image with Promarkers and again die cut it to fit in the aperture. The snowflakes are punched from white paper and decorated with glitter. I created the sentiment using Serif CraftArtist.

I look forward to seeing your Christmassy creations!

A Happy Little Stamper!

I am over the moon to be asked to be a Design Team member on the Happy Little Stampers Blog Challenge. This is a new challenge begins today to add to the already popular series of challenges.

The brief for this month is ANYTHING GOES with A DIE. So I have chosen this little card as my first card.

I used the Clearly Besotted Umbrella die and stamp set to create the card. It is such a sweet set! The scalloped circle die is a Spellbinders die. I paper pieced the umbrella by diecutting the shape from patterned paper and then overstamping onto it.

So pop on over to Anything Goes with A Die and meet the lovely new team!

Crafting By Designs Design Team

Things have been busy here at Sparkly Towers the last few weeks. The first piece of news to share is that I am now a Design Team Member at the Crafting By Designs Blog!

There are four new design members and I am sure we are going to have lots of fun along with the existing team. This week the challenge is ANYTHING GOES, so come along and join in. This is the card I made for the challenge , using a digital stamp from Tiffany Doodles.

The base card is cut using my Cricut Explore. I coloured the image with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens before decoupaging it. The ribbon was added from my crafty stash.

Do come along and join in!

Beautiful Rose

I loved the recent freebie with Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine

It was this lovely embossing folder and stamp set. I embossed the design and then used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink over the raised areas. The rose was stamped with archival ink and then watercoloured with Distress Ink and a waterbrush. I also used Crafters Companion Clear Sparkle Pen to add some bling. Its such a striking stamp you need little else to make it stand out.

Embossing in Gold

I hope you enjoyed your Easter break. I managed to sneak in some crafting during the school holidays!

This is one of my all time favourite stamps from Crafty Individuals.  This time I decided to make it a little more modern by using this colour combinatio - Barn Door and Broken China

I stamped the images and decoupaged some of them for added depth. I then added WOW! Pale Gold Embossing Powder to some areas. The card background was made by spritzing ink in corresponding colours onto the card.

Spring Flowers

On our dog walk we found these beautiful daffodils growing wild.

So these were perfect inspiration for this card I made for the Craft Stamper Blog Challenge (Spring Flowers)

I created it using a PaperArtsy stamp set, masks and distress inks. First I stamped the the flowers and then masked them before using another mask to apply Distress Ink through. I wanted to keep it quite simple. You probably can't see but the flowers glitter after having Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens added to them.

Bring out the bunting

I love adding bunting to my cards and this one is no exception!

I created this card with the Little Claire Silhouette House stamp. I have never tried embossing onto patterned paper before so it's a first for me! I created the bunting using papers and twine. When I finished it I thought it was perfect for a New Home Card!

Embossed Trees

I have just purchased the new Embossing Book from Fran Seiford of Stampendous. And I am hooked on embossing again! There are some fabulous ideas.

I decided to dip my toe in the water again with this card for the Mixed Media Card Challenge. The theme is Trees.

To create the background I used gold acrylic paint and torn book pages. I then used a tree stamp, stamping with Versamark ink and using different colours of WOW! Embossing Powder.

Once cut to size I used a black Promarker to colour the edges to give it some depth.

Watch this space for more embossing projects!!

CAS on Sunday

As much as I love making elaborate cards, my favourite has to be the Clean and Simple Style. Over at Addicted to CAS the theme is HOME.

I created this card using a PaperArtsy set of stamps, stamping the image onto different coloured papers before paper piecing the image. To frame the card I used a thin black liner pen to doodle!

Quick, Clean and Simple!

I am also entering the following challenges with this card :
