Alphabet Challenge - I is for Icy Colours

My first Christmas card made this year!
I don't normally work with cool colours, but Im
quite pleased with the result. I stamped the background
with an inkadinkadoo stamp and versamark ink, then used
an inkpad and cut n dry foam over the top.
I stamped the reindeer in versamark and chalked
over the top, adding gems to decorate.

Crafting with....toilet paper!

ZoeChaos has asked me to share the toilet paper technique that Sheena demostrated on Creative Crafts and one I have used in the architectural piece. Its a really fun technique and so dimensional

First tear about 6 sheets of toilet paper from a roll and fold them together as shown.

Choose a stamp to mould the tissue onto. It needs to be a detailed one which makes a deep impression. The Creative Expressions Lost Garden set is perfect for this.

Spritz the tissue until it is quite wet and then place it over the stamp.Press on and around the tissue to mould it to the stamp. You can use a stiff dry paintbrush to dab over it to really get the detail out.I have found it best to then leave it to dry in the sun or overnight, but Sheena did us a heat gun.

When dry you can rub an inkpad over it, use cosmic shimmers and acrylic paint to bring out the detail of the moulding.

I hope this make sense! but please email me if you need more information / help.

Architecture - Lots to Do Challenge

I have been trying out the fabulous "toilet paper" (!) technique that Sheena Douglass demonstrated the other day on Create and Craft. I thought it was the perfect entry to the Lots to Do Challenge this week which is Architecture.

Sparkly Trees

Here is another card using the Creative Expressions stamps. I made the background using the big and juicy pad, with the cosmic shimmers over the top. The trees were then stamped and embossed in silver.

Tuesday Taggers Entry

Here is my entry for this week's Tuesday Taggers, whose theme was vintage bookmarks. I covered the card in Papermania papers and distressed them. I then used La Blanche images and rub ons. The flowers I aged with distress inks and filled the centres with glass beads.

Green is the colour!

I made this card for the Alphabet Challenge and Theme Thursday who have both chosen Green as the theme. I used the Creative Expressions More Trees stamp, chalks and distress inks. It has a lovely gold pearl powder shimmer to it, but Im not sure if you can see this in the picture.
