Fauna and Flora

I love where I live with so much wildlife. Just this morning I have watched two baby squirrels playing in the garden and we have foxes living next door too.

So what better way to celebrate the fauna and flora but to create a card using this beautiful Floral Collage stamp from Stamps Happen - an old favourite of mine.

I stamped the image across three tags and then coloured them using watercolour pencils and distress ink and mica paints. I think the kraft card and twine really adds to the card.

I am entering the following challenges

Make My Monday - Kraft Card
Fashionable Stamping - Use an old favourite
Sunday Stampers - Anything

Remembering V.E Day

Its been a very poignant weekend with the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of V.E Day. Luckily all my grandparents survived the Second World War and I decided to commemorate the fact with a V.E Day Scrapbook Layout.

Sadly my Papa passed away some years ago, but my Nan, at 94, is still going strong and often retells her experiences about the war years. As I am working on my family history I have been lucky enough to have these photographs of my Nan and Papa. On the original photos you can just about see the love notes they wrote to each other on the front.

To create the layout I used the Serif Digikit 1940s Wartime Era

It is important that we never forget the sacrifices they made for us.

Mixed Media With Wings

Over at The Mixed Media Card Challenge the theme is WINGS and there is also a DT Call!

For my entry I used a favourite stamp set which I think was from Inkadinkadoo originally. I can't believe I have never used this particular one.

First I stamped the image onto book printed paper and then used Watercolours and Spectrum Noir pencils to add colour. Some of the areas I highlighted with gold pen. The dots I then applied using a stencil and Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Other challenges I am entering:
Ink on My Fingers - Books (Book Paper)
