I'm a bit behind on my DT postings this week, so I've put them in one post.
First is the Alphabet Challenge - we have now reached the end which is Z for Zoo Animals. I am a bit short of animal stamps so I used a digi image from Pink Petticoat Designs and handmade a rosette from My Craft Studio CD. I used a stamp from Craft Stamper to create the greeting.
Challenges I am entering with this card :
Pixie Dust Studio - Lets go to the Zoo
Stamp N Doodle - Include an animal
Dream Valley Challenges - Animals
The second DT piece I made which is featured today at Its Crafting Time was using buttons and bows which the company supplied.
To make this card I used Summer Bloom backing paper, Summer Bloom stamp and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I then cut a tag with a Sizzix Die and added some lilac ribbon. The butterflies that Its Crafting sent to me I embossed with an embossing folder and then inked them with Distress Ink Pads and added Stickles. The buttons I altered with Promarkers and embossed with embossing powder to add colour. Finally I wrapped the Pom Pom trim around the card and added a greeting from Creative Expressions Fanciful greetings stamped in Distress Ink.

Butterflies or Bugs
The Sparkly Fairy has been very busy this week! I have a craft fair next weekend so as well as making DT projects I am busy making cards to sell.
Last night I decided to actually make something for me to enter into the Fashionable Stamping Challenge which is butterflies or bugs.
I used a favourite nature collage stamp of mine and coloured it with mica paints. Then on a separate card I created three layers of WOW Embossing Powders Silver Ultra High and stamped into it with the same stamp to get an impression of the dragonfly. I then cut it out and mounted it in place on the original stamped picture. For the card background I covered it with book pages and dry brushed it with white acrylic paint.

The Grape Fairy
Better late than never this is my entry for Try It On Tuesday which is fairies. I made this card using a Bravura stamp. I stamped and coloured the image with Promarkers, then highlighted the grapes with glossy accents. The wings I highlighted with Stickles and other areas of the card with a gold pen. Simple, but I think quite stunning.

Shameless Plugging!
I find self publicity a bit awkward, but if you don't ask you don't get! I entered the above card into the More than Mummies Valentine's Card competition and it has been shortlisted. I can win the opportunity to have my Sparkly Fairy Cards promoted, an interview and more. I would really appreciate it if you would follow this link and vote! Thank you.

A Sketch Project
This week at Its Crafting Time we were asked to make a card based on the above sketch. This was a challenging one as I had never done this before. This is the card I came up with using Tim Holtz stamps, backing papers, fragments and metal foliage. All of which are available from the shop. For further instructions on how this was made why not visit the blog!

New Year - New Challenge
I was recently asked to be on Its Crafting Time's Design Team for this year and jumped at the chance. The new challenge begins today. This is my DT piece. I used Distress Inks without cleaning the stamp each time to get a range of blue and greens. The butterfly at the bottom was stamped and decoupaged to give a 3D element to the card.
The themes are as follows:
W/C 9th January - Green & Purple
W/C 16th January - Sketch
W/C 23rd January - Buttons & Bows
W/C 30th January - Newspaper
I look forward to seeing your take on the theme!
