Butterflies and Dragonflies

Well another busy week has passed! Had a great time and a new market on Saturday and sold quite a few cards and jewellery. I've been so busy making the last week I haven't had time for many challenges! Anyway back to normal now...
I created this card using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists on watercolour card for the background. I then stamped a variety of foliage onto the bottom half of the card. I stamped the butterflies and dragonflies and highlighted them with glitter glue. I love the shimmery effect the mists have given, although I'm not sure this photo gives the best impression?

I'm entering the following challenges with this one :

The Stampman - Butterflies and Dragonflies
Blogger's Challenge - Things with wings
Simply Create - Fly with me

Trees ATCs

I'm really busy at the moment getting ready for a craft market on Saturday, but managed to squeeze in these three little ATCS for the Stampman swap.

I used a Kanban tree stamp, Big N Juicy Ink Pads and Inkdusters to brush on the ink. The silver moon is embossed.

Happy Father's Day and a very Crafty Week!

Well first of all Happy Father's Day to all Dad's out there. This is a card I made for my father.

Myself, I've had a very busy crafty week, hence the lack of blogging! I held my very first demo at Hobbycraft which I really enjoyed and had some people that had come in especially for it!

Yesterday I took part in a jewellery lesson with Chloe - editor of The Bead Magazine. I started by making a charm bracelet, which as you can see is a work in progress but really enjoyed learning the correct techniques. I can feel another craft obsession coming on!

TIO - Winged Things

The current challenge at Dragon's Tag It On is Winged Things. The challenge finishes tomorrow so got in by the skin of my teeth! I'm really pleased with the effect I achieved here with the sequin waste and Distress Ink. The stamp is from an Inkadinkadoo set and I used the Autumn set of Promarkers to colour.

If you have any spare cards with this theme you might want to send them to St Luke's Hospice in Sheffield. They have a monthly card challenge where you send them a card along the lines of the monthly theme and they sell them for their charity. There is also a small prize for the winner. The theme for June is Flying so could be things with wings, planes or air balloons.

Grungy Monday (10 ) Entry

This week's challenge at Grungy Monday is to use Tim Holtz's Distress Inks. I used Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire. The text stamp is by Crafty Individuals. I diecut the Sewing Room elements and then embossed the mannequin with an embossing folder. I then applied the Distress Ink. I then wrapped the cotton reel with variegated cotton.

Less is More

The challenge at Less is More this week is Monochrome so this card is perfect. I used three different stamps and the masking technique. I stamped only using one Adirondack inkpad in Espresso and then mounted the finished piece onto Kraft card. Easy!

Grungy Monday - Better late than never!

Well as usual I'm running a little late with this one. It was a new technique that I had to get round to trying and I'm so glad I did. When I wiped off the paint it was one of those "oooohh" moments! I used a Crafty Individuals key stamp, pounced over acrylic paint and wiped to reveal the image as instructed by Tim and then stamped and embossed some text to finish.

At the Beach ATC

The challenge at ATC Challenges is to make a non flat Beach ATC. The challenge closes tomorrow so I made it by the skin of my teeth! For my entry I covered the bottom half of the card with real (YES REAL!) sand, shells and beads. I stamped a HobbyArt seagull and post and coloured with Aquamarkers and Distress Inks.
